Cyberspace

Digital representations of our entire world is uploaded in bits, entire lives being lost in cyberspace like tears in rain.

A few notes about Cyberspace:

All data, from publicly accessible (e.g. public photos and social media posts) to readily accessible by the government (personal messages, location data, blood pressure etc.), to private supposedly offline/"backdoorless" (Private keys to Ali10's wallet, etc.) is held on the United Government Central Database, which they also use to create profiles on every citizen. This database is stored on a decentralized network of servers placed around the world in government citadels. Most private data is encrypted end to end, however it is encrypted using a standard of encryption that can be cracked by government quantum computers if the need arises.

There are also a few networks that form a private more decentralized Cyberspace, however the megacorporations routing data in the public cyberspace have done a good job censoring all information that could help people connect to it. These companies also focus on making sure that the bandwidth for their websites is fastest, requiring payment from any new website or application if that website want's to not be throttled or censored as it grows.

Prison is no longer served at a facility- instead your brain is uploaded and you're “rehabilitated” in cyberspace.
